Today I found that I do not have the power to pull my trailer up hills that I have never had a problem with before. What could the loss of power be caused from? I have been pulling the same trailer for years without difficulty like I had today.
I am thinking boost pressure, but have no idea. Mechanics is not my things. Just wanted some sort of an idea before I took in to a Dealership Thank you
do you have gauges on it?
you can check for boost leaks by building a boost leak detector...
basically a rubber reducer boot with clamps that fits the turbo inlet, a threaded pipe plug that fits the other end of the boot, some PVC glue to glue the pipe plug into the end of the boot and clamp it down so the thread plugs bite into the rubber. (glue gets used as a sealent/lock tight) then drill and tap the end of the pipe plug and put an air compressor fitting on it so you can hook an air hose to it, and set your compressor regulator for 5-10psi. put air to it and use a squirt bottle and check all vclamps, pipe and intercooler boots, and intake gaskets for air leaks.
this is my boost leak detector for my twins:

cost me all of $13 at home depot to make.
