Default 2003 Dodge Ram TD HO quit!

I own Dodge Ram 2003 High Output Turbo Diesel with Automatic transmission (purchased new in June 2003). Its been a great truck and has 198,700 miles. Today it just quit as if it was out of fuel! No warning or nothing! The fuel pump turns off within 2 seconds of turning ignition on. The engine turns over fine ... just will not start....

Could any of the following be my problem:

1. The Fuel Control Acuator (FCA)?

2. The Lift or Fuel Transfer Pump (I did a code check ~~ P-0628)?

3. Do I also need to reset/reflash the ECM (by touching "disconnected" battery cables together?

Any thoughts would help! Oh, I am new to the forum, so I may need some guidance here ......

Moved to Diesel section...

Few things to go over on a diesel:

I would check your Fuel filter. It's probably clogged with crap from possibly having water in the fuel. Here in NY, guys keep spares in their cabs because the fuel is such crap in the winter.
Fuel Medic is also kept in the cab but doesn't help if you already have a no start condition since it will be in the tank and not the lines.
I would also check injector pulse. See if your injectors are working properly.
Check your fuel pressure
Check your glow plugs

cummins does not have/use glow plugs. They use an intake grid heater.

Welcome to DF.
Does your lift pump run for aprox. 25 seconds when you bump the starter?
If it does you need to check the volume it is putting out. Should be about a liter. Also if you have an injection test kit check the pressure it is putting out. Should be 8-11.5psi. If either of these are not correct replace the lrelatively I recommend a fass or airdog system. First I would start with feul filter its relatively cheap. Hope this helps.
