AMSOIL Automatic tranny fluid?
I have a 2003 dodge 3500 cummins truck. Been running amsoil in the engine since about 40,000. It is time to change the tranny fluid for the second time and I am curious about converting to Amsoil transmisison fluid. Intially I was told that amsoil transmission oil runs really hot in there and was told to stick with the stock Mopar ATF4.
Has any one with a switched to the amsoil fluid and what are the results?
Thanks

I just helped my brother change the transmission in his 01 ctd, and we put a stage 4 ats transmission in, which we filled with amsoil trans fluid. I have an o5 ctd, and when I hit 15000 miles I will be switching to amsoil in the tranny.
AMSOIL's ATF is the best and I would put it up with anything out there. It meets ATF +4 requirements. I put it in my new 2006 Ram after I got a boat and new it would be working harder and hotter. The temp on the truck has gone down and it shifts really smooth. If you need a dealer recommendation, shoot me an email.

DC recently released AT+4 for third party certification. Unless it's AT+4 certified, I would not use it in my transmission.

When it comes to conventional fluid I can agree 100% to only use ATF+4. But when it comes to Amsoil trans fluid it is one of the top fluids to use in any transmission. My self I used it in my 2001 Dodge Caravan when I was told it would ruin my transmission in 1,000 miles, as it did not meet ATF+4, well I am here to say the person was full of it as when I traded it off 20,000 miles later it was running like new.
