Default questions for new ctd owners with manual transmissions

Mileage, any issues with build quality, sold front axle, ball joints ect.

Def and clog catts, EGR?

Only reason dodge is a option is thier are no ne. w full size trucks with manuals, downside is I will never use a CTD with a in a quarter of its potential.

I have issues with Chrysler ie staying with the devil I know, but I cant shake my adiction for a new truck. ..and never will I buy a automatic.

Thanks..

Any reason why you want to go with the cummins if you dont plan to use it for anything that heavy? Seems like kinda a waste if you wanna get it for the manual tranny

Your correct...if dodge still had the hemi and 6sp man that fits...but my dislike for automatics warrents the surcharges.

Because of my past issues, it would kill me to pay more and rebuild the front end on The new truck 3 to 4 years into the future..

My 06 was a pavement queen but its rusting out now and not passenger pratical reg cab.

Well me personally I dont like the new stuff, made cheaply, emissions crap, more stuff to go wrong. The cummins is the only thing that will put up with the abuse. I wouldnt be surprised if it starts rusting out in 4 years or so. To answer your question there isnt really anything wrong with them. Usual ball joint issues as on all hd rams. Depends if you are going brand new or slightly used like 11-12. Ever thought of going older and getting an 06-07ish cummins? Cheaper than going brand new by about 20k. I've had my days with crappy autos and thats why my truck is a manual but my buddy had a built auto in his ram and I must admit it was a very fun truck to drive. Only way id own another auto is if it was built.
