Default 2005 engine noise

I am new to the Cummings community and I need a bit of help. When I cold start my truck a whining noise (sounds like a dry bearing) happens but when I press the clutch just slightly it goes away. It also happens sometimes when I drive down the road and have my foot off the clutch. Anyone have ideas on what it could possibly be? Thanks in advance

Where is it coming from? Could be anything. You could narrow it down to the location at least.

Throw out bearing. If the noise there only when the clutch is out. Clutch in no noise.

Most people will do a new clutch at the same time.

Part of the clutch. Usually remove the trans to get to it.
