Default Delete dpf and egr?

Hello all and it's been awhile, but I'm back in a proper truck. I just purchased a 2016 DODGE ram 2500 4x4 and I have been looking into doing a delete once I got a newer diesel but I've heard great things and bad things about them. So I'm on the fence about doing it

I'm leaving mine alone FOR NOW.

My fuel economy is around 24 mpg on the interstate and 90% of my driving is non towing/hauling lengthy (5+ hours) interstate driving. I'm only using about 5 gallons of DEF every 10K miles. Plus I've got a 10 year / 120,000 miles bumper to bumper which I'll pretty much void if I delete.

Only way I'd consider it is if nuisance emission CELs cause me down time and I've yet to get one through 2 years and 24k miles...

10-4 the thing with the that is I'm going to be using it mainly for work and highway miles. I'm a pilot/escort that moves oversized loads and last year bought a 15' Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 for my girlfriend, that does the same thing, and just over one year we've put 70k on her truck. So in the same two years you put 24k on yours I'll be over the 100k warranty in no time. So I've got time to save up for a delete and find one that'll work for me as I don't really want the power so much just the fuel savings and some more towing capability

With the newer ones getting better mileage. Other than performance, not sure you will see anymore gain. Haven't heard of the soot issue like years past.

Yea I've decided to not delete it for now, because I don't have the money to void the warranty. But I know that it will come with time and with that time I'll be able to have the money saved up for everything I need for it, if I have no problems with the system. Then I'll just leave it be

Hey I have unplugged my egr and of course I get a trouble light, no biggie the light but I see that my auto start doesn't work now. Any way of correcting this problem? Thanks
My truck is a 2011 diesel quad cab.

any powertrain dtc will disable factory autostart. put the system back the way it was and clear the dtc.

to the op. good idea to wait for powertrain warranty to expire before adding the delete kits.

Hey thanks for the reply primem, I just didn't want my Cummings eating all that soot. My truck is off warranty. I had read on one of these threads that unplugging the egr would stop the soot from being sucked into my engine and would extend the engine life. I live up here in COLD Manitoba and we need our autostart. I thought there might have been a solution but if not I can let it eat soot for the winter.

The DEF trucks don't pass near the soot through the EGR as the pre-DEF models. I've seen the 67,500 mile EGR cleaning of a 2011 and a 2013 and the '13 was sparkling compared to the '11...
