Default Propane Injection

So what do you all think about propane injection in CTD's?
Do you think it helps w/ everyday driving/towing?
I hear it boosts your fuel economy, but I wonder if it's worth it.

it's alright, but I wouldnt worry about it unless your towing alot since the propane is not injected untill you hit a certian pressure, not sure what it is but I think it is 20-25 pounds

propane can turn on at a lower pressure now thanks to the new kit from msd. its computerized and looks at egt's boost levels and load on the motor to decide weather or not to turn on. its also a veriable alowing only a little or a lot depending on load and other conditions. its come a long ways from the old "dummy switches" that was either on or off. ive seen an artical in either diesel power or diesel world on a cummins dont know the year but they gained about 5-6 mpg if i remember right. and a power increase. some of the fuel milage is offset by the use of propane though

The Mopar Muscle article(Apr-06) said" with the propane injection on and set to initiate at five pounds of boost and give 50 percent of the systems capacity, the mileage increased to 44 mpg (factoring in the diesel fuel use only) in a 100 mile test pulling a 10,000lb enclosed car trailer." They used 6 lbs of propane($3.60) and 2.27 gallons of diesel($6.82) for a total of $10.42 for the test. It also said it
increased the range, mpg increased from 14 to 24 mpg when towing.

Seems pretty good to me overall....

watched a power block on TV the other day when they added 4 in exhaust, CAI, 4 down pipe, new injectors, and a propane + nos results 880 hp rear wheels and the Dyno only showed 1200 torq. but it flatlined right the torq. right at the start so you know it had to be 1500 to 2000 lbs. this was on a 05 QC diesel i think it was not 4x4. but that is really crazy! i want to do it to mine and Go FORD hunting lol! lighting or whatever! lol getter done! Rammin Rules!!!!!!!!!
