Default Another fan clutch thread..

Can these electronic fan clutches go bad without setting a code? My fan clutch is working okay, but not great. It comes on at 215° and that's it. A/C is useless at idle. The clutch won't lock up at all at idle anymore. Almost like there's a couple of different speeds or reasons for it to come on, and the lower temperature threshold is not working for some reason. I've done a lot of reading and can't figure it out, and I don't wanna just throw money at it. I know some about the wiring. I have 12v at the green wire (park interlock) and 5v at the correct pin and ground at the correct pin (can't remember the pin locations at the moment, but they are correct) I don't know if there's a way to check the clutch without a scan tool. There's no play in the clutch bearing, no odd noises while I'm rotating it by hand. It just will not work at idle anymore. It came on once yesterday, shifted from first to second then it was no longer on. I drove over 700 miles yesterday and that was the only time it came on. Also, when it worked, it idled around 194°. Now it idles between 204° and 207°, so I know there's actually an issue.

Just wondering if it's an intermittent issue with the clutch itself. Hate to spend money and not fix the problem

Anyway, any help is appreciated, as always. I've been researching all week trying to figure this out, so if I've missed a post, I apologize. Haven't found anything that replicates my problem
