I'll be driving down the road just fine when suddenly my tachometer and speedometer gauges drop to zero than spike back up. When it does this you can feel the significant power loss. It'll do this and shut off while I'm driving and sometimes when coming to a stop, but lights and everything stay on. I pull over and turn the key off and on. It'll start back up completely fine. It'll do this fairly often I'd say every 5 - 10 minutes and it takes awhile but eventually the check engine light will come on and it will make a slight grindy sound for a second than the sound goes away but the light stays on. Any ideas?

 

What codes are you getting?

 

The codes I'm getting are P2509, P0107, P0088

 

First code is PCM power sense circuit problem.... That's the one you need to go after first, as that could potentially be a bad PCM.... Troubleshooting that one is gonna be fun though, as there are a fair few potential causes....

Second one is Manifold Absolute pressure sensor. Voltage too low. Might be related to the first one.

Third code is fuel pressure high. That will put the pcm in limp mode, thus, the loss of power, and running generally crappy, but, shouldn't cause it to die....

 

Might be a long shot but did you ever figure this problem out?

 

1-P 0642 code 2- P 2122, code 3- P 1618, several mechanic scan and all they said is electric issue but where ? no one know any way lighting bolt light coming on sometime so i was told to change TB i order and mechanic change for me next day happen again and aging . so this time crank shift sensor is change and nothing different . dealer told my i should left my truck in the service department . maybe 2 hours maybe 10 hours charging me $175.00 per hours so hope some ine can help me and not sure if they going to find

 

If the sensor reference signal is low, ALL of your sensors are going to be wrong. Got wiring diagrams? Gonna need 'em to trace the power loss.

 

electrician for car . when you ask any one they said yes we do electric work but after they said you should go to some one with special scanner . i drive the care and own long long time but never was lost like this . i have new wrangler Sahara and 2015 Rubicon but Dodge ram is the first one i bught this years for hunting and is disappointing me .if i did not spend to much money to fixing for offload i was sale it i get tired
