Default RE: Siren Sound?

Sorry it's been a long time, anyway haven't heard the sound in a while. Last time I heard it was about a month ago when I was pulling my snowmobile trailer, nothing since. I did take the truck in as the engine light would flash on then off occasionally. The dealer pulled a few codes:

1.) Ground Fault
2.) Fan Clucth Fault of some kind
3.) Transmission Control Module Fault (this one scares me the most)

Also when on a trip a month ago after driving about 7-8 hours and the engine light flashing on then off a few times all the gauges went to zero. As if the key was off. This of coarse brought on all the bells and whistles that go with the gauges. The engine was operating fine the whole time. Not comfortable with driving like this I pulled off and after waiting a minute decided to shut it down. Realize I was in the middle of the U.P. so not a lot around. Anyway shut it down and waited a few minutes, fired it back up, all was good. Since then once in a while the one or several of the gauges will drop to zero for a second then return to were it should be. Obviously theres some type of electrical issue going on here. What I DUNNO

On the same note: Does the CTD when first started not show normal operating voltage for about a minute or two? Whenever I start my truck the gauge reads below 14 volts and at night you can see a dim in the headlights and interior lights, after about a minute like a light switch everything is normal. Weird ahh.

The irony of it is that the truck runs great and other than the gauge action you would not know anything is wrong.
It's currently at the dealership that I bought it from they are working to find the issue. We'll see.

with the gages that sounds like something in the ECM is having a brain fart, the dealer needs to work that issue.

next, when you first start it up and the temp is below 50F the grid heater is operating, and will continue to operate for a few min after start, or you go over 18 MPH. during that time the altenator is not putting out any power since the grid heater pulls so many amps it will kill the altenator. once the computer sees the few min mark or 18mph, which ever comes first, it turns the cycling of the grid heater off and turns the altenator on. Right as the lights dim you should hear an audable 'thunk'. this is just the relay kicking on and sending power to the heater, then when the lights brighten up you will hear another 'thunk' as the relay kicks the hearter off. the lights dimming is normal operation.

Thanks for the help and the insight on the voltage thing. I had a feeling it was due to the grid heater but didn't know that it stays on after the engine is started. Makes sense though, the engine is still cold. Maybe ECM was the control module fault not the trans control module.
Thanks again I keep ya posted on what they find.
