Need to find out what size tires will fit on a stock RAM cummings 2500 crew cab pick up. Bought it used and will be taking off the lift and need to know if I have to downsize the tires/wheels as well. Right now I have pro comp 35x12.5x17's on with a 17x10 wheel and it is lifted probably 4" or so. Well we use multiple gooseneck trailers and I need to get the truck lower to fit them all and basically get it lower so I and other people can get in the thing. I would say the 17x10" wheels and tires are not going to fit once I get the lift taken off but I really do not know what fits these trucks. What wheel fits and what tire size will fit stock? Thanks .. any help appreciated!

265 70R17 is what comes stock.

I beleive 305's will fit without rubbing.

 

315/70/R17 will fit stock without rubbing.

I'm getting them put on this weekend. I'll post some pics so that you can see what it looks like.

have you tried this combo already, because i think you will find that you will rub while turning in some instances, especially if the suspension is compressing as you turn. i did a lot of reading and question asking when i got my truck, and i do believe Drew is correct. i think you will need at least a leveling kit to run 315's. maybe i got some wrong information, but you might want to call some manufacturers and ask.

 

I just took off my stock tires on 03 2500 and put on 33 /70 /R17 's. They fit without any problems. I did go ahead and put on a leveling kit to make it look better.

 

Drake. what did you do with the wheels that you took off? are they sold already?

Nope, not just yet. Still wondering what wheels will fit and thinking on what to do. I guess a 8.5x17 wheel and some 305/70's are going to be the deal...just have to get them and get the kit that is on there now off. Anyway I will be selling these once I get them off though. Let me know if you are interested. Tread life looks at least 70% and wheels are in great shape. I will take pics soon.

drake are you going to leave the leveling kit in it? my stock wheels on my 2004.5 ctd short box have 6200 miles on them LT 265/70/r17 on the factory steel/chrome wheels. where are you located? maybe we could trade?

Located here in lake placid, fl ... central south florida. Looks like stock shocks .. spacers are all that have been added to make the 35's fit but we have not gotten into the truck much yet. Taking all of that off and going back to stock and putting 305/70/17 on there probably. We might be able to work something out for sure .. let me know where you are and we can go from there.
