Default Manual Trans

What gear do you start off driving with a manual trans in your 6.7 cummins?? !st or 2nd... My trans is not stock tho.

If First gear is a 'creeper gear', start in second, unless you are trying to get a heavy load moving, then use first.

depends what year, the 4th gen G56 has faster ratio set, I almost always start off in first, but the 3rd gen G56 was a slower ratio. I usually would start off in 2nd. Also what gears and tire size you're running can play a factor

Yes, all 6.7 trucks were factory with a G56 manual transmission. I may have misinformed prior I thought the AE version of the G56 started in 2010, but it appears it may have started at the beginning of the 6.7 in 07.5.

However if you have 4.10 vs 3.73 gears, and if you have smaller or larger than stock tires can all effect the starting gear. Generally speaking, I would always be starting in 1st with an AE revision G56. 2nd just seems like to much, however you know your truck better than anyone on the internet and what its drivability is
