i am looking to buy a dodge cummins engine. i want either an engine/tranny combo or a wrecked truck that i can pull everything from, as it is not going back into a ram.

i was wondering if anyone knows a good source to find cheap engines/ builders and what year the went all electronic (i want a non-electronic one)

 

if you find one that is a 12 valve it will be FULL mechanical. there were a few 24 valves that still ran the P7100 pump and I think those were late 97's to mid 98.

if you are looking for a mechanical only, look for the ones that are sporting the VE or P7100 injector pump. the VP44 is an electronic pump.

it is going to be hard to find a wrecked truck with the engine still in it. that is what usualy goes first. now if your wanting a built engine look up Piers diesel.
