Default Synthetic vs. Fossil Oil

I think I started a war on a Harley tech website, but I'm looking for other opinions.

1. Did synthetic come factory in the differentials for 99?

2. What are the capacity of the front & rear differentials?

3. I have heard that synthetics are either the cure for cancer or a way to open up leaks and round out your cams & gears, especially in older or higher mileage vehicles.

4. Amsoil is really Amway.

Now I'm really confused......

How can a quality oil open leaks or round out gears and cams? Synthetic oils can make existing leaks more pronounced. I have been useing syn oils for over twenty years with no problems. I have put them in old cars, new cars, and slightly new cars.

Amsoil is not Amway.

Looks like you are entertained by starting wars on forums.

Not at all......everytime I get ready to switch my vehicles over a whole lot of negative info comes up that gives me pause to do more research and ask opinions of people who might have more experience with these things than me. I don't know-therefore I ask first-Simple enough?
Thank you for your input.

Sorry for jumping you on that.

Some people will argue against anything they don't understand. In many cases their arguement makes no sence. In that case I just pretend to listen and ignore them. Synthetic oil is good stuff. It used in every jet airliner in service today. It is used in the space shuttle and is now the factory fill in heavy truck tnasmissions and rear ends.

Is snythetic oil cost effective? Will it save you money? Those are the questions that will spark endless debate. Give it a try. Can't hurt.

I am an Amsoil dealer. If anyone wants to use Amsoil but has trouble finding a reliable supply I can set them up with their own dealership. That is why I became a dealer. Their is not minimun to buy and you get it at dealer cost.

Email me if interested.
