My experience with Ford is you better get the owners manual out of the glove box and read it before you believe the sales lit. When I bought my '04 Ford the towing capacity was 12500lbs, then I got home and read the owners manual and my exact truck was really only 10300lbs. The point I am making is read the very very fine print and you will see a different story. My current truck has a GVWR of 9000# it weighs around 7000 empty, therefore I have 2000 lbs capacity. I don't know how much it weighed, but I have been hauling firewood (green oak) from my friends house to mine. I stack it on and fill the bed up to the rail and crown it a little higher in the middle. This load sits my truck down to within 1.5 - 2 inches off the snubbers. I'm guessing I might be a little over the 2000lb mark. No problems hauls it just fine. Don't believe all you read.
