i think the 6 speed should handle it. it might not hurt to get ya a 4 in exhaust system. this would help it with the performance

go for the box only, the injectors will be a bit much

trust me on this, you will want to upgrade the turbo LONG before the injectors. infact some guys are running twins and pushing 500RWHP on the stock injectors

the stock turbo can only push 40-45pounds max before it blows up. if you keep the boost pressure to no more than 40 it will be fine, but once your EGT's get too hot it is time to upgrade. 1200F is nothing for these engines, however if you start flirting with 1500+ then it is time for the turbo upgrade.

I know a guy with a bada55 diesel dragster, I'm unsure what his EGT's are since he doesnt have a probe, but I would think after 1/4 mile they would be well over 2000F since there is fire comeing out of his stacks[8D]

ok i have a 01 3500 that i use hotshot runnig i have a 40' flat bed gooseneck that is 9000 lb by itself have had 19'500 in cargo on it i have a tst powermax3 with the race program in it witch is little bit hotter than the edge comp i have a kn cold air and mrsb 4 inch exhast and the egt get to hot i do have the contoller on it that pulls power out when it hits a set temp so i am not allways watchin my egt gauge and having to feather the throtle but i have allready had to upgrade my cluch (i have a 5spd but the factory clutch in the 6 speed is stonger than mine but it stile want hold up to the power ure talkin about putting out) before i put injectors in a turbo is deffenatly next step just to give u an idea since we have close to same truck with close to the same modes (that your wanting)

The box and injectors will add a lot of heat pulling 18000lbs. A tranny upgrade sounds really appropriate here first!
Cheers

instead of swapping trannys, look into a gearvenders or us/gear over/under drive gear set, this will split the gears for better towing.

I would upgrade turbo first to get the EGT's under control

ihavent heard of any problems with the 6 spd other than clutchs and thats cause of to much power not towing and a south bend clutch will fix that i tow a 40'ft flat gooseneck empty weight in 9k and put up to 20k on it so towing is not a problem had a six speed in my last truck (2001 3500 ho western hualer) and only problem i run into with it was the speed limit in the northern states cuase the 3.54 gear like to run at 70 to 75 mph thats where the pullin power was so what drew said bout the under or overdrive systems is a good idea but not cause it will pull better stock or mod'ed the six works wonderfly but for cruisen speeds (wished i had a six in my truck now the splits in the 5 spd are to big the six is perfect though
