Default just picked it up

Just picked up my new 06' 2500 Quad Cab CTD. So far have put 110 miles on it. After a ton of research we decided on the CTD over the other brands. Looking forward to the better fuel mileage. We are going to take it on a long trip this weekend so I'll get a good look at the early fuel mileage and will post results Monday.

my mileage didnt shoot up till about 20K.

the quickest way to see increases in mileage is to tow something, make the engine work.

now steve's comment is correct, however I peeked at a 94 CTD that was having the head gasket replaced for the first time at 425K. the cylinder walls still had the factory cross hatch marking and you couldnt see any sign of where the rings had been rubbing. basicaly the engine still looked like it was brand new aside from the top of the pistons being black from carbon build-up.

enjoy your truck and remember to drive it like you stole it

Computer says 13.4 avg mpg with 144 on the odometer. Manual says wait until 500 miles to tow anything. We are going on a 1000 mile trip this weekend so I should be ready to pull my trailer when I return. We have plenty of hills around here so I should be able to make it work a little.
