My idea for the next SRT vehicle
There is a reason this is in the diesel section.
This has been kicking around in my head for a while now. What does everyone else think about an SRT-6 CTD 4x4 2500. I think it'd be sweet, make it a regular cab 4x4 short box, maybe a quad cab option, kick the CTD in the pants with a stout manual tranny and driveline. I'm thinkin' shoot for a big truck like that hittin' 11 sec. in the quarter from the factory. We all know it can be done, heck there's guys knockin' on the 10 sec range with diesels. Oh yeah, it's gotta have a tow rating of at least 14K lbs too.
What's everyone think? Am I totally nuts? The problem might be that this thing could be kickin' a Viper's rear-end in a straight line.

Great minds think a like. When I first bought the truck, I thought about upgrading the engine then painting the truck a old MOPAR color and replace the badging with three SRT-6 emblems (each door and the tailgate, nothing else). I've decided to go a different route though, a little more off-road.
The tow rating could be a problem though running at that level.

I know it's never going to happen. And I know it's pretty easy to build what I'm talking about for oneself. I just think it would be sweet to have something like this with the factory warranty. The tow rating could be difficult, but come on, it's a Cummins, especially with the bigger one coming out I'm sure it could happen. If they wanted too, which they won't, it'd only be a $60K+ truck.
or for about the same amount of cash I know a guy that will drop a built 600hp 12 valve into a short box RC 1500
probably has enough juice that if the tires ever bit into asphalt it would lift the front end off the ground since the instant center is closer to the front of the vehicle than a long box or 2500

I'm surprised he hasn't built one yet. I saw a similar car built in Diesel Power Magazine. It was a Ford Stroked Lightning, Using a shortbox, regular cab frame, with a Power Stroke wedged in and modified.
