Default Possible Cummins for 1/2 Ton???

Has anybody heard anything for a 1/2 ton diesel? I heard from people that a 4.9L Duramax is coming out for Chevy, so I'm hoping that there will be a something similar from Cummins for the Ram 1500.

Please let me know if you have any word cause that would be bada$$.

I heard 1500 diesel theories from DC, but not a Cummins. It would probably be similar to the liberty diesel (can't remember the company name, but its Italian).

Cummins does have a 4.6L V6 and a 5.6L V8 that will fit between the frame rail of the 1500, and work pretty well from what I read about it.

if it will actualy make it into the 1500 is yet to be known, but if it did, expect to see people droping their hemi's since the V8 pushes about 300hp and 500tq. the V6 is running around 250hp or so and 425tq. these numbers might be a bit off, but I have a mag that has a write up about this.

That would be great. Maybe it was during the whole Ford/Cummins issue that the speculation on the 1500 engine was a larger version of the Italian Liberty diesel.

We'll see diesels in half-tons. All these new mileage regualtions for trucks will make it a need I think.
