Default Increase mpg with Ethos

I use it in my 04.5 2500 Ram and realized a significant mpg increase although how much I don't know due to my mileage being off with my 35" tires. The stuff definitely works.

this seems a bit too good to be true, a 58% increase in fuel mileage from an old detriot.

this is something I'm gunna have to investigate, sounds more like snake oil to me. what is the cetane rateing increase of this stuff, how much lubrication does it add to the fuel?

What is "Ethos" pretty new to the diesel world and am willing to try just about anything to increase my MPG on my '01 CTD 2500. But living on a shoestring budget cannot afford much, and with diesel prices at over $3.20 / gal here I would like to try something to get me over 15 MPG

allen, the best thing so far that I have found has been a mix of 16oz Power Service and 8oz Marvels Mystery Oil to every tank when I fill up.

this mix has given me right at 3mpg better mileage than not useing it. Many other members have tried this mix and have gotten very similar results from 2-3mpg better.

also since your 01 has the VP44 injector pump it is VERY suseptable to being killed when the lubrication goes down in the fuel and with the new ULSD standards the VP44 is going to be hurting, Power Service and MMO both have added lubricative properties that even made my 04.5 more quiet than it already is.

both can be had for under $5 for the 32oz bottle, and in one tank it will pay for itself and then some

try it Allen, you will not be dissapointed

Drew... a thought came to mind on the PSD/MMO mix... if it's lubricating that well up top, do you think it will delay the breakin period?

I'm one of those who sees +2.0 mpg increase using the white bottle. when I used the grey stuff I only got 1~1.5
16oz PSD (white)
8oz MMO (red )

edit: oops, forgot to add that I put it in my 5.9 gasser motor "just to see" if it would help valve tick when it was cold... absolutely gone! I only used about 10~12 oz to top off the oil level. I then put it in the wifes truck motor (3.9 Dakota) and she came back with an 18.7 mpg calculation (by hand) vs the "16 to 17" range as she puts it. That was a hellofa jump for using only 8~12 oz...

May sound like a stupid question, but are you using it in the oil or fuel? What is Power Service? I have never heard of it. MMO I know, but I belive it is designed for putting in the oil. I don't see how you can use that much per tank of fuel.

the mmo/psd is 8 oz of mmo and 16 oz of psd mixed in with your diesel. over in the 2nd gen ram forum there is a thread I started on MMO in the crank on a gasser if your interested.

I realy dont think the PS MMO mix would delay the break-in period. the way it is used lubricates the fuel system from the lift pump to the injectors. when the mix hits the cylinders under compression it also ignites with the diesel

I have been using Drew's mixture for over 6 months with no results except less money in my wallet!

I have seen no increase in mpg, power, performance or noise!

Worth a try though.

Good luck!

sorry to hear, but I have heard this is a hit or miss deal. Performance Boxes are the same, for some they work wonders and improve mileage up to 3mpg. others have no luck. it is a crap shoot.
