Default Tran ?

I tow about a 5k trailer with my 06 ctd 4x4 and I put the trans. in tow/haul mode and the thing seems to start off in first then switches to second, then seems to jump to forth or maybe even o.d.. It seems to be bogging down and dont know if this is normal....I thought it is not good to do this under load.....?

I do know the tow/haul mode does change the shift points, but 5K realy isnt anything for these trucks. try leaving it off and see what happens, then push it twice, this will lock out O/D

my 04 3500 w/automatic tranny kinda does the same thing. but, it does it when NOT in tow/haul. it runs thought the last two gears really quick. when i am pulling (nothing heavy, 2 polaris 800's) it goes into overdrive hard. you can hear a "pop" when it shifts into overdrive. i have been told it is normal, but none of my other trucks have done this before. any ideas?
