I was curious if anyone knows anything about a Volant intake for the 06 CTD. I see that alot of people swear by the AFE stage 2. But when researching the two, it looks as though both products are designed the same; with the exception that the volant has a sealed box that has openings outside the engine compartment drawing cooler air. The plumbing looks the same. However, AFE stage 2 $375-$450 Volant $275-$380
Any input?

I have a 2006 CTD too and was wondering the same thing.

I picked up a copy of diesel power magazine and they are running a test on "every air-intake kit we can get our hands on for the common rail Dodge Cummins" and they will post the results in the next issue (due out 5-16) I hope they compare MPG not just HP & Torque gains.

 

I don't know about Volant. Their setup is very pretty though. Anyway my comment is that of the three air setups i've had so far (stock, BHAF, AME Bruteforce) none have increased fuel economy, performance, spool up....anything! The latter two do increase the turbo whistle, especially the AME.

Yeah, I could not wait any longer. this darn truck is burning a hole in my pocket. I went ahead and ordered the Volant and it should be here on Friday. Therefore, I guess I will be the rep. for volant on this site. I will post what I find. Ebay"$269.00" cant beat that.
