Default Bogging down

New to this group and was reading some of the probs with lift pumps. I have a 02, 2500 H/O cummins, 6 spd, with 55,000 mi. I just changed out my fuel filter(2nd time) and cleaned my K&N. The truck seems to be running fine after I finally got it running. Before the filter changes it was bogging down in places and situations it had never acted up before and I would have to down shift. does this sound like a lift pump acting up? I'm leaving in a couple of days pulling a 5th wheel rv and now worried about breaking down. It drove great after the filter changes but did bog down for a second, one time. Any advised will be appreciated.

Default RE: Bogging down

The fuel filter is supposed to be replaced every 15k miles. I have had 2 that did not make it that long and both times when the filter got clogged I was towing a horse trailer. The truck would start missing and blowing white smoke. Downshifting only made it worse.

When my lift pump went out, it did the same thing, but the truck would not go more than 5 miles an hour and it made so much white smoke that it looked like a military smoke grenade had gone off.
