Hey guys, I just bought a new 2006 2500 Diesel, SLT with 4x4. I noticed that when I turn the key to start it, there is no lit up "Wait To Start Indicator". The symbol is there but it has never lit up. I have experience with diesels but have never owned one until now. Is this a change to the 2006s, does it not light up? Or is there a problem that I need to have fixed?

 

Depending on the ambient air temperature, the light won't stay on if there's no need warm the heater grid. I believe over 65 derees outside...

 

Well, since I bought it, it has been around 100 degrees every day. So if it cools down, I should expect to see the light?

 

yup. I'm on a lot with 60 diesels on it. Even on 50 degree days the light is usually on for just a second or two longer than the other start up lights.
