the only time I have drained my fuel filter is when I am changeing it. and in 30K miles I havent had any sign of water in my fuel.

if the water in fuel light does come on, then YES by all means do it. However, that light has been known to be erratic.

it is realy your own personal guess if you want to drain some of the fuel from the filter, but just remember, it will go all over your front end. if you have a piece of 3/4 ID hose about 18-24 inches long this will help keep things clean.
