i just bought a 06 ram mega cab and was wondering what the largest
size tires i could put on my stock 17in rims without putting in a lift?

 

I've got an 03 2500 CTD with the 17's and I was able to put on 315-75-17 (the same tire used on the Hummer H2). They rub lightly on the link bar only when you crank the wheel to the right. I maybee lost 3-5 degree's steering wheel rotation. And to be honest I've only rubbed about 3 times. With the longer wheelbase you may need that extra turning ability. Also I believe there is a 2" leveling kit that isn't expensive but will allow you to run these larger tires without any rubbing.

my 04 3500 4wd has 305/70/17's. no rubbing. skyjacker makes make a set of coil springs that will raise the front of your truck about 2 in. the springs only cost about $160 for the pair. this will level your truck and allow the extra clearance for the 315's. the 315's that come on the hummer calculate out to 35 X 12.50. they look really good on a leveled out dodge.

 

how about for an 02 2nd gen ctd quad cab. im going to put a leveling kit with 17x9 rims and i was wanting to put 35x12.50x17. I didnt see any thing about this in the other topics so i thought i would ask here ..... let me know if anyone knows

 

hey i just wanted to take this time to thank all who sent me a reply about tires for my truck, and i would like to know what else you guys think i could do to my truck without voiding the waranties?

 

some dealers will void cerain parts of your warrenty for bigger tires... different rods and such them dang dealers try to find anything they can stick you with...

Me I put the 285/70/17's Cooper Discovery SST's {some road Noise} but I can still hear my radio and cell phone
Be careful what ya wish for and try and ride wif some friends first with different set ups Cuz once they hit the road there your's
I hate the road noise until I see dead leaves and then Its Woooly Booger time and Noise makers
