Trac Bar Replacement
I need to replace the trac bar on my 2001 4x4 2500. I've heard that the kits that convert it over to an 03 and newer trac bar aren't worth the money because the 03 trac bars aren't any better quality. Does anyone have a good suggestion as to what seems to be the best replacement?

there are a couple out there... one being a thurenfab bar http://www.thurenfabrication.com/stocktb.html I have one of these on my 1/2 ton and it's pretty good. there is another mfgr out there called DT, http://www.dtprofab.com/dodge.htm that also may be worth a shot. as far as the '03 & up bar goes, i'd recommend it. Both ends are fixed and you can easily swap the bushings out when the time comes for some urethane ones. Solid Steel Industries has the bracket available and it's bolt on... http://www.solidsteel.ca/Products.htm
HTH... when you do get it fixed, I recommend you put in as much caster as you can. this will help prevent the death wobble the 4x4's can have.

A lot of the guys that run (or have run) the 03+ trac bar on their 2nd Gen CTDs over at DTR say that they don't hold up any better than the stock 2nd gen bars. They seem to have better luck with Thuren's bar or Luke's Link.

they probably need to use urethane bushings on both ends to make it perform/last better...
