New Brew.....Acetone????
I was telling some guys about the Drew Brew, which I have been running for about 3 Months now, they told me some of them were using Acetone.... about 2oz to 10 gallons and getting up to 4 MPG more. Has anyone heard of this or used it? Sounds a little scary to me.
From what I've heard acetone is a solvent and bad mojo for injection pumps. I will stay with Lucas or Power service or 2 stroke oil. I used to run MMO and still do once in awhile. But stay away from solvents

acetone will remove the lubrication from the fuel, with diesel injector pumps and injectors, the more you have the better off you will be. . .to a point.
hello, yes that is so and the correct mix 2oz. to 10 gal. diesel go to www.lubedev.com and click on acetone in fuels Louis is awsome person. I was leary of even thinking about using acetone in my 06 ctd. But after you read, you will switch to.
This has been beat to death on many forums for years so I guess its our turn. Some claim it helps, some claim it hurt mileage. I feel safer using PS because so many diesel owners use it as intended, and the effects are clear.
I have used acetone when doing fiberglass work on boats and its most annoying feature is that it evaporates at the speed of light. Unless it combines chemically with the diesel fuel I would guess its gone by the next day. Plus I thought it was extreemly flammable. ...but I had the worlds lowest grade point average when I graduated college, so take that for what its worth.
As far as the link, that has conspiracy theory written all over it. If Cummins didn't want thier engines to last, then I'd say they really blew it! And if Dodge wanted truck owners to have bad mileage, they would not have put the Cummins engine in.
