Hey there everybody. I'm proud to say i'm a new owner of a 06 6 spd. CTD. First new anything i've ever owned. Anyways, i had a quick question about warranties. I was wondering if things like a lift or chip will void the warranty. I've heard tales of allowing the dealership to install those type of things and not effecting the warranty. I want to keep my warranty however i can hardly contain myself from modding the living hell out of it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.-Pat

 

Well i woould talk to your dealer because some stuff is dealer specific i called mine and they said they would void my warranty on the truck if i installed a chip.... i called around and a dealer about 45minutes from me said they wouldnt void my warranty but if there is a probelm with the motor that when they do there computer download and send it to chrysler and it shows the damage is from the chip it would not cover that part so i asked them what if i removed the chip and brought it in they said that is one of the worse things you can do because if the computer is erased and only has 20% usage on it as apposed to like 400% chrysler will not hessitate to void the warranty right there... so i have thought myself of paying 1500 for a aftermarket warranty and i have a diesel company in my area that said they would cover it with this warranty no problem if there was a issue becuase of the chip.. as of bigger tires they can put wear on items such as some ties and rods that some dealers again would not cover... now there is a programmer known as the Smarty that claims they dont have a footprint but you can take that at face value. anywho just my 2 cents....

thanks for the input, i'll ask around to a few dealerships and see what they say. I wasn't aware they could tell the usage of the stock chip. Good stuff to know. thx
