Default stacking programmers ????

I'm thinking of adding the Quadzilla Xzillaraider XZT performance box to my set up,, its the one with only one setting (65hp). I already have the Tripple Dog programmer (kept on the middle setting). Does anyone know if this setup will work, or what kind of problems I might have, or,,,, what I should look out for or do to make it work. I appreciate the input .

I dont know which programmers will stack with each other but I do know that anything much past 70 hp gain will cause the tranny to start slipping. you'd need to at least swap the torque converter and the valve body to be able to go past the 70 hp mark...

what you could do however is add an afe stage 2 kit and open the exhaust some... makes the truck a whole different animal. just keep in mind that if you open either tooo much, you'll loose low end torque & mpg. with my straight thru exhaust & afe I get about 15~16 mpg consistenly (having 33's on and leveling kit hurt as well). when I go back to my stock airbox, I get back about 1.0~1.25 mpg. closing down one end or the other will help keep the torque up on the low end...

Ive heard they stack pretty well since the BDDL is a pressure/duration box and the XZT is a timeing/duration box.

but just as steve said, put too much through the TC and tranny and it will slip.

Thanks for the input. All in all do you think its a good idea, or just a waste of money? I know that black smoke is just unburned fuel, and it is a waste, but I would like to see a little out of my tailpipe, rite now, I don't see any. Any suggestions?

*ahem* read up on how friendly your area is to kitty's on diesels. *ahem*

in the ATL there are emissions inspections on gassers, but none to my knowledge on diesels since they are classified as farm equipment

stomp on it harder lol!!!

on my edge, I have 5 settings for each power level... 1 being least smoke, 5 being most smoke. I like to crank it up every once in a while and blow out any tailgaters I might have riding too close...

crawl under your truck. . .follow the exhaust pipe from the turbo. just past the last bend to the straight run there will be a massive bulge in the pipe that looks kinda like a resonator. . .that is a catalytic converter (kitty) when I removed mine I was able to get some puffs, not much, but I'm looking at fixing that[8D]

usafr,

I run both the QuadZ (65HP non adjustable) you are looking at and the BDTD.

I also have a 5" exhaust with a free flow muff. As a side note I did originally lose the kiity but it came back and thankfully for 2 good reasons. When I went with the 5"exhaust and an aftermarket intake I lost any remnence of low end torq and without thje kitty it was freakin loud! I replaced the intake with the stock and added a drop in, and presto! The low end came back to stock level.

Anyways.... I first added the BDTD and was happy. Ran it on econo/tow and a little on perf. but never on the extreme and was perf. happy. Then I start readin about the QuadZ and all its claims about an extra 1-4mpg. I figured for about $270 and an extra 65HP and 1-4 mpg what the hell right?

Well all I can say is that on my first trip I could notice a little mopre power / response which was great (we all like instant gratification right!). At the end of the trip I was pullin in around 18.7-19.8 mpg. (I filled up twice and checked the ole fassion way. the overhead was sayin 21.2).

Wow this was great. Then the BDTD came out with the new version (2.3.0?) and installed it with the low end power (not the torq manager) and this thing would break loose (on econo/tow and the QuadZ) like you wouldnt believe.

Now I run the QuadZ and the BDTD (with the low end power enabled) but actually keep the setting on stock and I have more than I need. Lovin it! As a kicker this last trip (only about 600miles unloaded) I still came home with decent mpg. The first half of the trip was at 75-77 and the second was at 80. The first round I got 18.5 and the way back I got 16.3

Its up to you. All I can say is
