Default Little rigs to go faster for drags!!!??? Help?

"I still have faith in my big buggy!!!" OK so I will find what my MPH is later today, but what else can I do to blow the doors off my b-friends 7.3L on the drag strip? He has a standard, unfortunately I have a six speed so I will never beat him in a 1/4 mile, but I wanna atleast get a better time than 17.9s. So far I have five step edge juice and hog exhaust, and K&N filter only. Is there any tinker things I can do to boost a little more speed out of my ride. But I don't wanna hurt my truck so this is like a one time thing I guess. The drags are tomorrow night. Thanks All.

PS: This sounds dumb, but where is my ESN (engine serial number). I heard its on a barcode but where?

ON my gauge its set at 50 for boost. EGT is 1495. Fuel pressure runs about 10-12 but drops to 0 sometimes.

when you configure the edge thru the attitude monitor, if you select the "low boost" resopnse/fueling... cant remember exactly at this time, there are 5 settings for each power setting. (at least on my '05 it has that setup), make sure the power level you have is set to max response (5). this will apply to all 5 attitude settings (milage, towing, drive, extreme and race)...

hope that makes sense...

ok so I set my low boost setting when on stage 5 to #5 for most smoke and I can configure it to do it with all levels of chip automatically? It has been set on 5 when I race- (clutch burner) and thats all I get.

yes, set the low boost setting to #5 and you'll get the most out of it. All the other settings (milage, tow etc) have individual setups so you could set milage to #1 and tow to #3 and when you switch on the fly, those settings will take affect.

well. . .a boost elbow would help, it will delay the opening of the waste gate and give you a bit more boost. if you have the stock lift pump I would say it will be about time to ditch it if you can pull the pressure to 0.

the boost elbow is an easy mod and is fully adjustable. it goes inplace of the stock 90 degree brass elbow on the compressor houseing. the new one has a screw head that you can adjust to limit the amount of pressure feeding through.

I'll need to do a little research and see what all you need to do to get your rig screaming.

edit: your ESN should be on a sticker on the front of the valve cover.

oh hell yeah, I'll definatley let everyone know what I think of it. both mileage and performance. I'm a greedy one who wants both good fuel economy and a screamer of a motor when I need it. I'll be tweeking my truck for a while until I get it the way I want it. [sm=icon_rock.gif]

Doesn't Intake give you more low end power? When I start off the line it boggs a little then takes off like a bat out of H_LL! I also heard you can cut a hole in your airbox. Is this something recommended? I don't think so cause then those darn leaves show up where they ain't suppose to.
