Cummins for Nissan or Toyota?
Light duty trucks also has the 1500's in the relm of things. and I have a TDR article from last year where Cummins was testing a 4.6L V6 and a 5.6L V8 that both made rather respectable numbers and fit very well between the frame rails. I would go as far as to say a small 4 banger could be introduced into the dakota, however since DC also owns Mercedes and they are manufacturers of Diesel engines I wouldnt put it past DC to drop some small displacement engines into the ram or dakota, and this agreement with Cummins does involve nissan, toyota, honda, or whom ever else.
For one, I love the fact that Cummins is from my home state!
Honestly, this has been a long time coming, and I think its a very smart move. Like Drew stated, its a plus for anyone who gets involved, as they'll sell more trucks because of the sheer power and better gas mileage of the diesel motor. I personally would probably go back to a Dakota or Toyota X-Runner with a turbo diesel in it....
