When you have a CTD which battery do you use to jump the dead vehicle?

In my opinion, it shouldn't really matter,, just be sure to have a good connection, as the batteries are hooked in a series circuit.

i dont know if it matters or not but i did read in the manual that u should use one over the other but i can remember which one.. but it is in the manual...

Shouldn't they be wired in parallel? Series would double the volts, parallel would double amps- if the batts are the same.

I really don't think it would matter, just use the one that's closiest to the dead car

sry, its been a loooooong time since I was in tech, but yeah, it woldn't matter either way which one you used. at work, we use the one thats closest and eaiest to get to.

Funny this should come up today as I used the RAM to jump a dead FORD F250 PS......
The guy has been giving me crap about how the ford is better because of this or that and we go to leave work this evening and the PowerStroke won't even turn over. Hooked the DODGE up to it and it fired right up. I can't wait til tomorrow and to explain to him why the RAM 2500 is THE superior truck......
