thanks for the replys keep them coming if you think of anything everything helps!! the axle coment, wold i have to get an axle out of a 94- 02 2500 or would the 1st gen axle work if its 4x4, i heard the axle puts are different. any truth?? what about rear gear ratio?? if fram not tough enough i can box it in right . all repls are great thanks
Correct, you will need a 2nd gen axle from a 94-01 (02s didn't have CAD). The 1st gen axle has a passenger side drop. The 2nd gen has a driver side drop. You would also need a 2nd gen transmission and transfer case along with the front suspension.

Gears would have to be changed if you can't find a new front axle to match your rear axle. That's not the problem. The problem you'll run into is that the front axle will be 8 lug and the rear axle will be 5 lug. So you'll either have to live with two different rims or swap the rear axle as well.
