Default Idle up control option

On my old truck (ford) I did a mod that tricked the PCM into thinking there was a PTO attached and I could idle up to 1200 RPM with the flip of a switch. The Dodge truck has a similar option that is controlled by the cruise control buttons, but only for the auto trans trucks. I went to my dealer today to get the 3750 mile service (grease front drive shaft), and got talking to the tech. He hooked up the "star" scan tool and enabled the idle up option ( got a confirmation from scan tool ) however it doesn't work. Tech thinks the PCM may be looking for the "Park / Neutral" switch to be made before it will work. I thnk he may be right. Only problem is manual trans don't have that switch. I went digging in the wiring diagrams I downloaded via the " meery christmas " post (thank you). I 'm not a schematic genius. Any one here wanna see if we can trick the PCM into thinking I have a park / nuetral switch made to see if the option then works? I think a simple jumper in connector C132 will do the job.

I'm unsure about the 06's as the PCM has changed, but I know on the older trucks, grounding pin #22 on the 'B' plug will fool the PCM into thinking there is a PTO. once pin 22 is grounded off the dealer can flash the computer, then turn the cruise on, push set, and then increase RPM's by useing the accel button, one push will give 100rpm up to 1500rpm.

I think in the case of the 06's it is looking for some sort of switch, however I have seen my truck do the auto high idle. however when the brake is pushed or the truck begins to roll it disengages.

Drew, thanks for the answer. I feel a little stupid asking, but what / where is the "b" plug?

the 'B' plug is the rear PCM harness plug.

I have this option on my Bully Dog programmer. I've enabled it three times (b/c I had to remove the program) and each time it will work, but believe it or not, for the first couple of days it wouldn't work and then suddenly it worked fine. I don't understand why, but it happened the same each time.

It is a dealer programmable feature. The Bully Dog triple dog can set it as well.

You can do the idle up feature, change headlight programs, make your radio stay on after you shut off the truck, all sorts of stuff.
