not running royal purple, I'm running amsoil, however from what I have read online about RP is it is some good stuff and many are satisfied, yet there are always those that find some problem with it, mainly from them useing the wrong weight fluid.

No matter the quality of the fluid, using the wrong one will only cause problems.

Sorry, I have never tried RP.

I used to run Redline back a long time ago. I switched to Amsoil on a bet and never looked back!

I'm running RP 75w-140 in the rear axle. No issues to report.

Drew, have you changed all fluids to amsoil? or just engine oil? I got a price quote from a wholesaler for about $250 for engine oil, tranny fluid, and front and rear differential. I only have rite at 10k on my truck so I'm gonna wait a while more b4 switching. What are some of the advantage that youve noticed with the new oil? and is this a good price? or where can I get it cheaper?

tranny shifts MUCH better, I seem to roll a bit farther with the clutch pushed in comeing to a stop, and of cource increased mileage.

I bought 4 gallons 15-40, and 5 gallons 75-90, 5 qts 5-30MTF. changed everything but the transfer. dont use it too much and the fluid was still bright cherry red.

out of all the fluids the 75-90 was the most expensive, but I have enough right now to drain and fill the axel and tranny on my little yoda, that needs it desperately, with some left over.

I have a AMSoil prefered customer number, it is $20 for a year and you get some right nice discounts when ordering the fluids. the $20 came back to me and then some with the 15-40, the 5-30MTF was $2 off a quart, and the 75-90 went down about $40

granted I used a local guy to get my stuff in the past, he had no problem with me doing this since I was getting it at his cost, the same as what I got since it is a drive for me to get to his shop

Im running R.P. 15w-40 in my 02 24 valve . I just got the truck about 2 months ago . Before I got my Dodge I had a 99 f-150 with the 5.4 and I ran it in that one too. I went 10 k on my ford and plan on doing it with the ctd too. I have lots of friends with chevy and ford diesels and they have been running it for a few years and have had real good luck with it . Hopefully it will work well for you and I hope this helps you ..
