Default crank case vent?

So I'm under the truck looking things over for an oil change and notice the front diff has some drips forming. Wiped it all up and traced to the top of the diff to see another drip fall from a 3/4" hose about 6" above the diff. The hose leads to the valve cover and I'd say it is part of the crank case vent system. I guess this is typical but wanted to ask anyway......anyone else have fluid dripping out of the tube?
Any fixes or mods to keep the under side looking some what clean?
Besides a rag once a month to wipe it all down.

Both my CTD, and my ISC (in a motorhome) do this - I spoke to Cummins about it and they say it's "normal". I don't like the marks on the driveway, so if anyone has a suggestion I'd like to hear it too...

the reservoir is supposed to be drained /cleaned every oil change ..
it is just a "catch pan " that is on my 01 model there is a plastic catch can
maybe you could add one if not one there

I noticed the same thing. I was thinking about putting the end of the tube in a small bottle (not sealing it), and draining the bottle as part of my PM. Does anyone know if this is advisable or not?

On my '06, the tube just ends at the bottom of the motor even with the oil pan mounting flange. No catch can, tray, etc.
The tranmission bell housing, tranmission pan and transfer case are lightly coated in engine oil that is blowing out of the vent tube.
I will probably fashion a catch can to trap the drips while still keeping it vented to atmosphere.
Thoughts about this from those in the know appreciated.

In the old days they had a cc vent, that had a housung with coarse steel wool, to catch some oil in vapor and a tube went along side of block, i am going to fashion one like it. should work.

you can put a bottle on the end of it to catch oil drips and the such, as long as it has a hole in it somewhere to allow fumes to vent out.

diesels are going to drip oil, if they dont drip then they dont have any oil to begin with.

Kinda reminds me of an old (1960's) Harley I used to have.
It was more of a oil sieve than anything else!
Thanks for the input and suggestions......
