I found it on the main page and was curious.

well. . .first of all the displacement of these engines is 5.9 Liter, not 5.8L, second of all, once the air goes through the intake horn, down through the heater grid, and hits the intake runner the swirling action it supposedly creates is gone.
it's a gimmic that makes the guy you buy it from rich.

I've seen a program 20/20? and the Vortex Valve or a similar product promoted by an orental guy, DID NOT prove to be any change or improve anything exept your wallet got empty. a promotional hoax to sell. my 2cts.
A guy on a Ford Explorer forum I belong to tested something similar and didn't find anything beneficial. I copied his posting.
"I have never tested this device for fuel economy' and have my doubts that it will do anything.
However, we did test it on my '99 SOHC on the dyno and found no power gains as the manufacturer claims."

Granted the Explorer is a gasser and your rig is not, but the dyno results show the sellers of these things don't deliver what they claim.

I have a "Tornado" installed in my truck and it improved the MPG slightly alnog with the power. I said slightly.... my MPG went up approx 1 MPG and I could feel a slight increase in power. The tornado gives a 90 day money back guarantee so if you no like you can send it back.... They all look real similar though. I've had the tornado in my truck approx 3 months now so I have passed the 90 days so I guess I will keep the thing.

there is also this gizmo...

I have not seen a few dodge owners using it... but never asked them about it (it wasin their signature on a forum).
I would think however if you can get more airflow into the turbo and thru the inner cooler there would be a benifit. I've seen the infomercial on the tornado and their swirling affect on getting water from 1 jug to the next does make sense, as long as you can keep it moving from 1 location to the next. if your turbo is ramming air into the innercooler at any given pressure i'd think that the faster you get it out or the more effeciently you get it out, the sooner more air can be rammed in. this may affect the turbo in some way, I'm not sure how though.
Is there anyone on the forum who has a tornado installed on thier ram who would be williing to get a TAG for thier truck to try it out?
these guys offer a 30 day money back guarantee... http://www.blackclouddiesel.com/Dodge/tag.htm#TAG3
edit: oh yeah, oneo f the mufflers out there (aeroturbine???) that is supposed to draw exhaust out quickly, much like the tornado shoves it in. would be interesting to see how all 3 on a truck would run.
