Is 100mph possible on a speed?
I friend of mine was trying to tell me the other night that the 6 speed cannot even acheive this speed because it would be red lining. All we have around here is a old automatic.(98.5) . Whats the rpms on the manual at 80mph, 90mph, 100mph? Oh what is the redline on the 03 and newer trucks?

it realy depends on the rear axel. I have the NV5600 manual and 4.10's. I can do 104 before the engine defuels mainly cause I am on the redline, however with 3.73's 114 is easily achievable
redline on the trucks differs between the years. 94-98.4 factory was set to around 3000, but you could change the springs out and get over 3500rpm. 98.5-02 was around 3200. the HPCR's (03-present) will rev unloaded to 3500, but will only spin to 3200 loaded.

RE: Is 100mph possible on a speed?
I was driving in Northern Michigan on I 75 on a lonely stretch of hwy, where I had mine go to 105 on the speedo... I have the 2500 with the 4 speed auto and 4.10's. The truck was still going faster but I had to let go since I did not want to raise my insurance premium LOL... its just amazing how fast the truck accelerates around 75mph / 2500rpm or so. I guess the turbo is spooled up at this rpm?

Thanks for the clarifiaction guys. Looks like when I finally have enough money saved up, That a NV5600 manual would be the truck for me. Because of the better ratio on the top end. I would like an auto but a plan on keeping it for the long term and using it for the farm service vechile when I'm done with it.
