Default 01 cummins sputering

my truck while driving between the speeds of 20 to 50 mph will (almost like it is missing on a gas engine) the rpms drop a little the back up. But after a while it stops and the truck runs fine. More to the story I changed the fuel filter the other day and the truck would not start so i had to bleed the system which I never had to do before. I was told that my fuel pump may be going how can i check to see if thats the problem? any other suggestions would help!!!!!

sounds like a lift pump, measure the fuel pressure to your injection pump and see what it's at. Hopefully you injection pump isn't destroyed.
