Default Sort of a Noob question so don't slap me!!

Hey Everyone,

Guess you can say I'm a Noob to the Cummins Diesel, not to mention this section. I've been hanging out in the 2nd Gen forum (I do have a 98 Ram gasser for at least another 15 hours), but on the 12th, I'll be in a brand new 06 2500 Ram Big Horn, QC, LB.

So, my first question in this section should be: What do I need to watch for? Things I can do to enhance my Cummins diesel experience? Any other pertinent information?

Thanks in advance

Lance

Most everyone has a different setup so just check em all out and see what you like. What it really boils down to, is how much money you wanna spend. I have K&N intake, BDTD programmer, Aero Turbine exhaust. This is mild compared to what is possible for these engines, so its really up to you. How much power do you want, acceptable noise levels,, and once again $MONEY$. Other than that, welcome, youre gonna love this truck, I love mine. 2006, 2500, 4x4, CTD, quad cab,,,,, hell bent steel 2" leveling kit, K&N intake, Aero Turbine exhaust, and Bully Dog Tripple Dog programmer.

At the bare min. I'd put a 4" exhaust on it from the turbo back muffler is optional depending on your tolerance for noise

Cool! I've already been looking at doing at least a muffler. My current Ram gasser has 3" exhaust from the Magnaflow Cat all the way to the tailpipe with a Flowmaster Muff. Don't know if I want to do much to it at first (warranty and all), but a Flowmaster Muff would probably not be out of the question. I don't mind announcing my arrival, so to speak!

Well, as things sometimes turn out, life doesn't always go the way one hopes. However, not all is lost!!\

I did acquire an 04 Ram 2500 CTD, LOADED!!! Not a Laramie, but damn close. Even has the Infinity stereo system. Boy howdy! I love this rig. It's going to get me into lots of trouble. Once that turbo kicks in, you'd better be hanging on and watching out for the friendly local police!

So, I guess I need to sort of change my original question and ask anything that I should watch for on the 04 CTD's??

And BTW, thanks for the info so far.

Lance
