Default TST installed...

Well, as much as i'd like to add some comedy relief to this post (much like Drew did)... all I can say is Wow! I bought this box used and it was set on 9/9, I set the power down to 3 and didnt know how to set the torque, all i can say is I might have to clean my seat lol... hahahaha ok not really but it's its... well its like... no, well, ok, it's like being pushed by a freight train. I dont know how it would have been with the power up there at 9 as well but damn! that box has some *****! I'm sure the intake, exhaust and intake manifold have something to do with it since it feels like the turbo spools just as fast, if not faster than before. Well at any rate... taking it down to LA this weekend so it'll be a good mileage test for the #1 setting & maybe #2 settings.

oh yeah another thing... the cooldown timer is hella cool... set a temp & a time and when one or the other is reached, off it goes (after pressing the right button though)

Drew, shoulda listened to you from the start... (actually I already had my edge).

thats realy the best way to put it, it feels like your being pushed by a freight train from the torque.

just watch it though and dont go ***** to the walls with a high torque and get out of it with low boost, you'll run the risk of snapping the shaft in the turbo.

well then the snapped shaft would be the weak link then wouldnt it...oh no wait the tranny. either way it'd be an expensive day. sounds like the thing to do is move the tranny updates higher on the to-do list and find a suitable turbo to go along with it.

generaly the tranny will let loose before the EGT's get to the point where you are in trouble.

48RE can handle about 75horse more over stock, the turbo can handle a bit over 100 more over stock. the first problem I do see though is you running the CP3 out of fuel and not having enough pressure in the rail. the enigne will start popping and back fireing and have the feeling like it is de-fueling.

I am also currently trying to sell my edge juice with attitude in hopes of gaining the tst. Does the tst plug in similar to the edge or does it reprogram the ecm like a bully dog. Do they also claim to be able to hide from the dealer for warranty purposes?

plugs in almost the same way as the edge... your data port is not connected with the tst, the cam & crank sensors are instead along with the other connections that the edge has.

it does not program the pcm in anyway and the dealer wont ever know it was there...

the TST only reads the crank and cam sensors to give timeing advance, and it also reads the injector pulse and lengthens it to increase power. TST is the only box I know of that is a Timeing / Duration only box. every other box and programmer adds pressure and this can cause injector problems. adjusting the timeing and duration is only altering what the engine is already doing and does not cause any additional injector wear.

check the TST out at TST Products.com. it is THE ultamate box for these trucks. and is something you can grow into. other boxes when you get larger sticks, bigger turbo, better clutch TC, or auto, you have to get the box re-programmed. with the TST you can just turn it up a bit more and get more power.

right now I can crank the power to 4 and tq to 2 or 3 and it feels like I got kicked in the keester by a horse 5/3 and the clutch is slipping, 7/4 the turbo barks when I get out of it, 9/9 and intersections are being shut down while the smoke clears.

Steve, How do you compare it to the edge on setting 5?
