RE: The ball dropped,,, its dead
the dealership called and said that the PCM is fried[sm=confused06.gif], and that fuses are missing. Dealership: sir, did you have a box or something on this truck? My response: nooooooooo sir, nothing of the sort. Box, box,,,, whats a box????? [sm=devilangel.gif] so I guess that Bully Dog was right in that the programmer doesn't leave any tracks on the comp.

RE: The ball dropped,,, its dead
I just talked to the sevice guy and he said that their would be no problem in covering the pcm and parts under warranty. Hes waiting to hear back from chrysler to see if they will allow me a rental until my truck is ready,, b/c the parts are on back order. (probably be another yelling match this afternoon)

RE: The ball dropped,,, its dead
Yep, I called Bully Dog, and come to find out, the program never erased from the comp, but since the PCM is fried,,,,, theres no way to tell. I found out what caused it. It really was my fault all the way. When I was removing the Outlook Monitor power wire from the fuse box, I accidentally knocked out the fuse to the PCM. This fuse didn't allow the comp to work, therefore the truck didn't start,,, which caused me to try and remove the programmer (thinking it was the problem),,, and when it did, the programmer erased the vin from the pcm and fried it. I take full blame for this foul up, fortunately for me though there is no way to tell what happened. Dodge is going to replace the PCM as if it was a warranty issue, and Bully Dog is going to flash my programmer, change the boards, and reprogram it,,,, so its like all brand new again. Your right, I got lucky, reaaaaaaall lucky. Bully Dog assured me though that if the program is removed and the truck returned to stock,,, there is absolutely no way to tell if you had this programmer.

RE: The ball dropped,,, its dead
Steve, the BDTD only plugs into the OBD II port under the dash, and once the program is downloaded its removed. you can still plug it into the port at any time and adjust on the fly. The Bully Dog tech explained it like this,, the handheld programmer removes the stock settings from the PCM, stores them in the handheld (which prevents using the handheld on more than one application) and replaces with the hot program from the handheld. When you return the truck to stock, the process is simply reversed, therefore leaving no tracks of what happened. They assured me that if you return the truck to stock there is no way for them to tell that you had a programmer. The boxes differ in that they have to be plugged in and fool sensors and what not to read differently and make the engine performe different.

RE: The ball dropped,,, its dead
It displays all the stuff your guages in the dash will. It will extract from the onboard computer the transmission temp, boost, hp and torq readings, all without installing any sensors. The only sensor that has to be installed is the pyro, and it comes with it. One drawback though, I couldn't get mine to shift on the fly, called the techs at Bully Dog, tried twice, and still nothing so I ended up sending it back. This thing cost $371,, so I sent it back quick. anyways,,,, thats my experience

RE: The ball dropped,,, its dead
yeah, it works with pretty much anything. Now unless you have the BDTD, you cant shift of the fly. But you can use it without anything if you want, just for guages.
