Should just pull off. Commonly there are just push-in clips that hold those on. Just start on one corner and pull, if you have to CAREFULLY pry on it a little. It should pop right off.

plus by the glovebox there is a screw that needs to be removed. when you put it back on, make sure the end near the steering column goes in 1st, there is a lip over there that if it's not in 1st, it wont seat right.

The dash on a 2006 is a lil different than the one on the 2005, or at least it was on my QC SLT. Where the lower cupholders flip out there are two push pins that push up into the underside of the dash bezel. After you remove then the dash bezel can be gently popped off. I had to use a flat head screwdirver wrapped in tape the first time to keep it from scratching the dash. The harness kit that I purchased for my truck required me to run one wire over to the ignition switch for power because there is no accessory power on the stereo harness, there is just the constant power to provide power to the clock and so forth. I hope this has helped you out some.

almost forgot to tell you he crappy thing about upgrading the 06 stereo. Once you upgrade it, you will no longer to use the back accessory position on your ignition switch to turn the radio on when the truck is off. I even went to a local stereo shop to make sure this was true and I had wired it correctly, because this seemed strange to me.
