Front D-Shaft: No Grease Fitting
Well, I was crawling around the truck and figured I'd lube the front d-shaft. Guess what? No little port. I looked at that thing from every angle possible and all the u-joints are sealed.
But, I do have the sticker under the hood to lube it? [sm=confused06.gif]

Here is the link to Drews: DIY Maintenance: 05 & later grease fitting. https://dodgeforum.com/m_487238/tm.htm
It shows a photo of the grease fitting on the front drive shaft.
cumminalong, usafr,
When I looked for mine the first time I could not find it until I saw the photo that Drew posted. To find mine I jacked up the left front tire and slowly turned the wheel until I saw it. I also used a drop light to help me see when I looked for mine as it was not an easy thing to see. Heck even the Dodge dealer's lube man could not find it at first and told me it did not have one, but I made them move the truck forward so he could find it and they did find it.
Anyway to the best of my knowledge all 05 & 06 4x4's have this grease fitting on the front drive shaft.
I was up under it with a light, had the right side tire up, rotating it.
I'll have to crawl under there again and take another peek.
I'll tell ya what....for something that you are suppossed to lube as often as they recommending, they sure made it inconvienent enough.

Hey I agree 100% that it is a roaly pain to lube as I tried it and had grease all over the place. This is why I now have the Dodge dealer install my oil and filter as if they forget to lube it then I can blame it all on them.
Heck it was only 12 dollars for them to do it, so I don;t have to worry about it or lay on the cold floor this winter at 10 below zero. I hate to pay the money being I can do it my self but I guess it is worth it if it goes out due to lack of lube getting in the U joint. But then I should try a few more times and learn for when it goes out of warranty.
