I'll be honest, I cruise at 80 mph whenever I get the chance, but to think that that is the sole reason for a 3-5 mpg drop seems a bit much for me. And I have no clue what Diesel Demon did to his truck to get DOUBLE what I'm getting AND be able to retain the title of " St. Soot " on top of it.

MAN ..... am I that much of a lead foot, or do you think it could be something else that I'm missing?
80 MPH, yer making boost. Boost = Fuel.

Over 2K RPM's (for me that's about 72 MPH) and you are starting to dump fuel pretty good.

I was afraid you were gonna say something like that.

I live in the city which is pretty much light to light, but when I make it to the highway, I kinda like to let it hang out a bit. Cruising at 75-80 is where I like to be, and with the Aero Turbine doing it easily has once again been achieved.

I don't know what exactly the RPM's are that I'm cruising at . Can you guy's figure out the tach system? What does each line represent? There are 3 lines in between each halfway point. Since I'm not real sure how it's read, I usually run at 2K and 2 lines. LOL !!!

Check it out ... here is a pic of my tach. I was taking pics of my new wheel cover ( which BTW I REALLY like ) and you can see the tach in the background. What does each line represent?

IIRC it's 3 ticks between each 500 rpms and from the looks of it, thats what yours is... so the middle tick would be 250 rpms + whatever you've just passed...

it's tough to keep your foot out of it...

Cumminalong,

You mentioned at 80 mph we are making boost. What does that mean? Does that mean the turbo is running?

he means it's already building boost, more boost = more power = more fuel to make the power. If you want good fuel economy I think the trick is to get as much low end torque as you can w/o building too much boost.
