Diesel vs Gas
I know and have heard that a diesel engine will out last the damn frame of the car, but how about the other parts such as transmission and that. Do the other components of the vehicle need more care/work or is a diesel truck all around better as far as parts lasting. Also, any special things you need to do for a diesel as far as fluids go or something like that?
$500 bux will get you easily 60~75 hp and will put you past the hemi easily...
as far as the rest of the truck... it's a truck so it's 100% rebuildable unlike the disposable cars that are made today. most of the cars dont last 200~300k before being dumped in the wrecking yards. Next time your on the road... have a look around and see how many old trucks are on the road, they just get re-built and put back into service.

wish i had a cummins in my dakota.... arent i such a wishful thinker.... yea seriously.. with the cummins... with the right care... that engine will take care of you... 350,000 miles until a general overhaul if needed whereas getting a gas motor to 200,000 and it still running smooth is a one in a million thing... plus hemi is over rated in my eyes
sold my v10 gas ford for a ctd dodge mega cab. trust me get the diesel! Milage is so much better. power and off the line perfromance is awesome! After driving a v10 (which is supposed to feel much stronger than the hemi) and towing a bigger horse trailer, i can tell you the diesel pulls so much stronger!
