Got the pro guard, I'm also lookin to replace the stock air to air tubes with polished stainless ones. Not sure if its worth the $$$'s for somethin you only see when the hood is open. They sure look nice though.
you have an AFE CAI connected to the stock tube? I've seen a few like that in searching for a CAI, how do you like it? if you go with a tube, i'd suggest getting the AFE torque tube and stay away from the metal ones, unless your going to wrap it. it'll get heat soaked and cause more problems than it's worth (power loss).

Donny, I think your handle idea is an awesome one, if I had an 8' cover to deal with, I would have looked for an alternative open/closing setup as well. Just having 8' there is enough to cause problems. my 6' cover is a problem for my little woman, she has to climb on the bumper if there is any kind of downward slope behind the truck.

Robert, Charles, Adam, Rich... nice to have a name to go with the login name...

The only difference with the intake that I really notice is the sound. Of course I pulled the silencer ring and plugged the waste gate when I added the intake so I don't have a clean slate to make any accurate observations. Still, I wanna try something different when I go to a different turbo, but that is a couple years down the road.

you could always get the AFE torque tube... IIRC it's about $100 bux which isnt too bad.

I'd offer you the other handle from the pot, but my ladyfriend now uses the one handled pot to cook corn in when we go camping.

Hey all -- great idea.

Name's Dan. 06 CTD QC LB 4x4 6spd Grey. Sorry don't have a pic yet. Only 1700 miles so far. Engine built in June 06, according to Cummins. Everything pretty much stock for now. Extras take money. Fueled up with the first Drew's Brew, and liking the mileage. Last tank was 17.8 with my conservative driving (keeping engine rpm's 2k and under). Strictly highway between tanks was 20.6 (both calculated). Impressed so far. Since reading the adobe from Cummins, been trying to keep the engine (most of the time) around 2k and under.

2006 2500 CTD, QC, Short Bed, Auto, 4x4, White

About 4000 miles to date and I love these trucks.

Only mod so far is a DeeZee truck box. I am looking for a leveling kit at the moment. One that won't bring on the death wobbles that I have been reading about. Also am trying to figure out how to mount a winch without buying an aftermarket bumper. Probably step up in tire size in a few months I would hope, maybe 285's or 295's, nothing too large. I am also reading all I can about the Bullydog and Edge gadjets. Probably have to wait for the 36k mile warranty to expire before that happens.

Love the site and talking about these CTD's......

Brent

Welcome Dan, Brent...

Brent, the death wobble can be avoided all together by adding as much caster as you can into the alignment. With your truck being new, shouldnt be an issue with any leveling kit out there (Kore, cough)...
