Default question about a trans

i finally ordered my cummins for my mud truck today (out of a 95 fl70). the next thing i need to figure out what i should do is pick my new tranny to use. right now i have three choices that i want to go with. first i could use the stock 47re that i have but don't really want to because i really need a 2wd trans. second i could have a 727 built up to take it (which i have a stock one laying around) or go with a gm 400 turbo that i could build up also. i have access to plenty of those and most of my club buddies run them also so it owuld make it more conveinent to use however i would have to find an adapter to bolt it up. i would just through a nv5600 in it but just wouldn't work to well for my driving style. btw i'm looking at around 500hp at the crank just for starters. also doing a leaf spring conversion on it with a divorced np205 transfer case. should be able to fit my 48x31x20 on the rear and a little skinnier 48's on the front. if someone can alos tell me how to post pics i'll finally get the shots of my truck on here.

at 500hp, the turbo 400 and the 727 will melt from the torque. your best bet is going to be to use the 47re and have it built up a bit to handle the power, then all you need to do is get the tranny tail from a 2wd junk truck and put that on the 47RE so you can have your divorced t-case.
