If this doesn't work without the tube attached, then how long is the tube? does it just hang there?
The tube is a seperate piece. If you look at the picture, you'll see that the top picture is what the plug looks like normally. The bottom pic shows what it looks like when you screw the attachment ( the hose ) to it.

This is just the attachment piece ( sold seperately )

The EZ Drain Plug permanently replaces the drain plug . . . no more leaking plug seals/washers, and the factory plug is replaced, eliminating the opportunity of fracture. But the real benefit of the plug is the way in which it simplifies oil changes. The patented drain tube screws into the oil plug. As you screw in the drain tube assembly, it pushes up a rubber sealed/spring loaded drain valve. Drain the oil, remove the drain tube (thus resealing the drain valve), reinstall the rubber sealed drain cap, and you’re finished.

EZ Change Drain Tube

Note: The plug will not work without the tube.

The Fumoto drain valve is excellent. I have used it on my vehicles for over 5 years and it has made changing oil quick and clean. They have a website you can order directly from: www.fumotovalve.com (I think).

Are you using the one with, or without the nipple? Do you think it sticks down too far?

I ordered mine with the nipple, then I will see if I like it. If not I can remove the nipple part as it looks like it just screws in....if not I don't care as you are going to hit the axle tube way before you'd ever hit the nipple. U'd really have to be scraping over a large rock then have a point that hits the nipple just right etc.

I don't do much wheel'n and if I do I won't be going over many rocks like that...if I do I'll just look for a trail of 3 gallons of oil behind me [:@]

Yeah, that's the one I'm going to go with as well. I"m flicking through the Geno's cat first though because I don't want to spend the shipping JUST on a valve so I " might as well " ....

You know how it goes.

Any other suggestions on things I might "need" !!

So Geno's has counter service? I have some friends up there and Genos would give me an excuse to go up that way...

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I'm actually starting to build up the cajones to maybe attempt the fuel filter change myself !!
